Day One & Day Two

Well, I gotta admit I'm right proud of myself for keeping up with this blog...and I'm only on my second day lol (hence DAY TWO). On another note, today was my first day at my new job as a pharmacy technician at Kroger Pharmacy. Today consisted of nothing but TRAINING!!! Lemme tell ya I have never sat in front of a computer screen watching demos and instructional videos for that long in my LIFE!!!!! Not only was my butt sore but I started feeling so dang tired after 1pm lol. However, I got ALL of my online training done in one day.....minus one lil assessment. So, I'm glad that part is done. Tomorrow, I don't know what else I will be doing but training should end by this weekend.

Today was also a very dark, soggy, and rainy day. Severe weather pretty much dominated most of the Southeast region due to the remnants of Tropical Storm Lee. Last weekend, the OBX got hit real hard by Hurricane Irene and now the central NC and Western regions are getting some heavy rain as well as even some tornadoes and severe thunderstorms. Check this out:
Someone in Angier, NC got this shot of a tornado touching down near an intersection. Pretty crazy, huh? And that's not all. Here's another shot of severe weather:
Another civilian took this shot of a downed tree in their neighborhood. Pretty intense, if ya ask me. During my lunch break at the pharmacy I went into the restrooms and called mom and dad. Dad didn't answer the house phone and I got just a tad worried so I tried mom. Thankfully she answered and said that she would try giving dad a call. After a minute or so she called me back saying he was on the phone talking to Papa (my grandfather). He (dad) told mom that everything was fine: the roof was holding up, the pump in the basement was working, and just in case the power got knocked out the generator was under the carport ready for action if need be. Thankfully, nothing drastic happened. I came home and had to quickly undress because I had another interview with another church, this time in Hillsborough, NC - aka Hicksville. I met with the Search Committee of the church and the interview went so well. This was a rather small church and unfortunately they are going through a church split. It's rather painful to know that another Body is falling apart. The only thing to do in a situation such as that is to continue gathering in God's house as well as continuing to lift each other up building more and stronger relationships with one another. How can a Body continue to live if its Vital Organs begin to cease functioning? It can't happen. Anyways, I have another interview tomorrow evening...well, not really interview.....this is more of "just-meeting-the-committee-and-getting-to-know-other-people-in-the-church" kind of deal. LOL! This is gonna be at Durham Memorial Baptist Church. All I can do in moments like these is continue to bless the Lord for His provision. After a couple of weeks of being done with my internship I was beginning to lose hope and God proves me wrong once again.....and I'm glad He does. God is good...ALL THE TIME!!!
